Privacy statement for the Events.nationalparks.fi website
Events.nationalparks.fi is a website that is open for everyone and provides up-to-date information about events organized by Parks & Wildlife Finland as well as provides interested event organizers a platform to market their own events. The website is maintained by Metsähallitus.
Data collection
Data is collected from events.nationalparks.fi users when they register as event organizers or when feedback is given via the feedback form.
Personal data required for the website registration is gained directly from users and this data forms event organizers register. The following personal data can be provided on the registration form: name and e-mail address. Users can provide their contact information on the feedback form if they want a response to their feedback. The following personal data can be provided on the feedback form: name and e-mail address.
Data processing and disclosure
Data processing is based on consent that user gives to handle their personal data. Data can be used in managing users own events and in websites own communication purposes.
Personal data required for signing up to the website and feedback information are not disclosed to parties outside Metsähallitus, and the data is only processed inside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Data storage
The personal data provided by event organizer is stored for as long as a user is using the service. Users may request erasing their personal data by e-mail: luontoonfies [at] metsa.fi
The personal data provided in conjunction with feedback is stored for as long as necessary for the purpose of feedback processing.
Data protection
The protection of the Events.nationalparks.fi webpages complies with best practices in data protection, current legislation and regulations, and supplementary instructions issued by Metsähallitus.
Access rights are used to restrict use of the system to only those individuals that require the data for their work.
Use of cookies
The Events.nationalparks.fi Internet service uses cookies and other equivalent technologies, such as browser local storage. Cookies are small text files used for communication between the terminal's browser and the server. Cookies and other identifiers have a set period of validity, after which the browser removes the identifier. We use these technologies for carrying out our activities and for analytics.

The data used by analytics is anonymised wherever possible. General statistical data is collected on the use of the online service for the purpose of service development. The following statistical data is collected about the use of the service: total number of visitors and page views, number of sessions and average length of sessions, repeat visitors and first-time visitors, web address used to connect to the website, most used search words, most popular webpages, terminals used, browser versions and most common service providers. No personal data is collected about users of online services which could be used to identify individual visitors. The statistically collected data cannot be linked together. Usage monitoring is based on Google Analytics reporting, which makes use of Google Universal Analytics cookies (further information available at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2838718?hl=en&topic=2790009) and Google TagManager software cookies. Google Tag Manager's JavaScript code is used for usage tracking.

Rights of the data subject
